Strong Pulse In Neck
« on: March 17, 2007, 06:22:00 PM »
Hi, new here.

Does anyone else have a strong and visible pulse in their neck? Right down to their collarbone?

I seem to feel my pulse all over these days - although my BP and pulse rate is good, and a recent EKG was also good.

It's just hard to pass a mirror without checking that pulsing neck.

Well, in mine it seems like it's really bounding at both sides, and I can even see it right at the bottom of my neck, as if the whole neck is beating, in a way.

The GP said not to worry about it, and that some people have a more forceful pulse than others. And I do seem to feel a strong pulse everywhere. I can see my abdomen pulse with each beat, see my chest shake my clothes, and can even see my foot wobble in time when I have my legs crossed.

Still, my BP is always good. I'm just sure my pulse wasn't so strong before that it made my whole neck pulsate.

i have that too.  its not something to worry about, although i did for awhile.  my BP is ~100/80 so i don't think its related to that all, just a matter of being thin and the artery being close to the surface.

Hi - I always fret about veins, and a VERY unusual one under my arm at the moment. But I wouldn't worry too much about pulses. If anything, strong pulses are a good thing. Chances are that the anxiety has simply made you notice it. My brother, for one, has a vein in his neck like a hosepipe and you can actually see it throbbing. I really wouldn't worry too much about it.

If i look down at my body, i can see everything pulsate. Had it for years, had tests, all was fine. Its caused by anxiety.
