well..tiny bullseye rash.
« on: September 04, 2014, 02:13:59 AM »
I live in Manitoba, Canada and there is an issue with Lyme disease here. I was at a cottage on the weekend and got misquitoe bites but didn't notice any tick bites until my shoulder became itchy and now I have a tiny bullseye rash. It isn't as distinct as I've seen them before..and its very small.

Is it serious? What should I do about it? What are the repercussions? Thanks

It is probably nothing, but if you are worried maybe going to see your doctor while the rash is still visible would be a good idea. At least would have peace of mind.

You can get a similar rash from mosquitoes.  My youngest son always has.

Even if it is a rash from a Lyme-carrying tick, going to the doctor and getting treated right away is key. 7 years ago my mother and 5-year-old cousin were both bitten by ticks in his backyard, while she was baby-sitting. My mom got the flu-like symptoms and the rash; my cousin just got the symptoms. Both went to the doctor, were given antibiotics, and are completely fine today. You will be too!

Take a picture in case it goes away - that way if you see a doctor about it they won't have to guess about what you saw and identified as a bullseye rash.
