Yesterday the lower eyelid of my left eye felt like it was burning, like I'd gotten something in my eye under my eyelid that was causing it to hurt. I figured that's all it was, but then in the evening I noticed it wasn't just the lower eyelid that was sore. The skin of my upper eyelid and also the skin below my eye all the way to my left nostril is also sore and hurts to touch. It also hurts to blink. It's kind of a burning sore pain. The weird thing is the skin looks (as far as I can tell) totally normal. I can only see maybe a tiny bit more redness under my lower eyelid when I pull it back compared to my right eye, but it's negligible. Still, my mind is racing with a million ideas of what it could be, none of them good. It feels a lot like nerve pain, kinda like you get when you're sick with the flu when your skin hurts to touch. But I'm not sick, as far as I know.
If this is relevant at all, a few weeks ago I did have some minor shooting pains in my left eye that lasted periodically throughout the course of one day and disappeared. Since that was a while ago, I doubt it's related, but thought I'd mention it.
I guess what freaks me out (and this is kinda tmi and embarrassing) is that it's the same kind of sore skin pain I've had when I've had genital herpes breakouts. But it's on my face. My mind goes straight to fearing I somehow transferred the virus to my eye but I don't see any way I could've done that since I've been outbreak free for a while now and obviously don't touch it when I do have it. I DID just touch my eye yesterday morning to try to get something out of it, and that was after shopping and I'm afraid I got some kind of weird disease in my eye by doing that. LOL. I don't know but this is really freaking me out.
I don't know what to do. If I went to the doctor I'm pretty sure they'd just stare blankly and tell me to go home since there's nothing visible there at all.
