Urinal problems
« on: August 28, 2014, 09:13:26 AM »
Had this near the start of July. Le sigh.

I started to get a mild burning after urination...although never during. On/off throughout the day it would be tingling and burning down there too. Even when I hadn't been to the bathroom in a while. GUM clinic couldn't find anything wrong in my results but gave me Doxyxcline antibotics to treat a non-specific Urethritis. Seven days worth, two tablets a day. Sadly, had no effect.

GP booked me in for an ultrasound. They couldn't find a thing wrong with my insides. Went back to my GP as its not been getting better naturally. Gave me 250mg Azithromycin antibotics. Had to take all four in one go yesterday. Woke up today feeling no better and had a bad flare-up after my first bathroom trip.

Getting really depressed.  :(

Nothing seems to be working. I have been consuming water like the plague. Tried cranberry juice with cranberry tablets. Avoiding shower gel around the private parts. Been out jogging everyday to get plenty of exercise. Unable to take my mind off the problem and pain.

Did they do a Vaginal exam and say anything about Thrush? if you have itching , burning , stinging it could be that I had it and they gave me some stuff you inject up in the vagina it cleared it up.

May be worth a try and if you are jogging that will agitate it more.

Hope you feel better soon take care.
Peace

Have you had a look around the head of the penis? Is there any redness in the area? If so, it could well be Balanitis, which is a little bit of swelling around the area. It can cause itching, soreness, pain when urinating, an unpleasant odour, tightness. I just recently got diagnosed with it following a clear unltrasound and unsuccessful courses of antibiotics for a urine infection and prostatitis.

It can be caused by a fungal infection, in which case your doctor should be able to give you a cream for it. Just worth a thought :)

Head and inside of penis looks completely fine. No swelling or redness.

Had to go back for an emergency appointment again today. Was in excruciating pain after my first urination of the morning. Felt like I had just passed razor blades, because it was stinging and burning so bad. Although, always fine during urination. Stream is normal and colour looks clear as water.

Gave me 500mg Naproxen and referring me to a waterworks doctor. I hope it all gets fixed soon. Its honestly ruining my life. :(

By any chance are you taking loads of vitamins, especially vitamin C?  That can definitely give you those kinds of sensations..  I myself had some 'sensitivity' and found the cause to be excessive vitamins.  I stopped all vitamins and felt 100% better within 24 hours.
