Worried about chemical exposure.
« on: August 27, 2014, 12:20:45 AM »
In my neighborhood we have these truck that come around from time to time and spray a mist as they drive by. I assume it is some sort of pesticide to control mosquitoes or something. Anyway it came by at about 9pm and a few moments after I opened my door without thinking, it was open for just a few seconds before I shut it. At 11pm about two hours after the truck came by I took the trash cans out to for pick up in the morning. Could I have breathed some of the stuff in this way? Would two hours have been enough for it to dissipate?

two hours is enough time. Have you gotten flyers from the city or the company doing the spray? Maybe you could find something in your cities website. some southern states (i'm not sure where you live but in America) have cities that regularly spray for mosquitoes as a precaution for west nile but if your area is completely ventilated, i'm sure it was fine.

Something that could cause damage in a moment's exposure would never be approved to spray throughout a neighborhood full of pets, children and the elderly.
