Will this fear stop?
« on: August 26, 2014, 01:23:39 AM »
This is the fourth night in a row I've had shortness of breath and some chest pain freaking out thinking it's a dvt or pulmonary embolism. What's the actual risk of someone who plays videogames a lot not 10 hours straight like 2-4 I just can't seem to find any answers just says immobility my left leg has been hurting almost a month now it's not swollen or anything I just can't get this out of my head

I don't think you have DVT, but do you only sit when you play videogames or do you also sit for hours at school or work?  If it's just 2-4 per day and you're fairly active, you should be fine. If it's a lot more, then try to get up and move around when playing.

That said, DVT often comes with other symptoms - a warm, reddish swelling (localized or otherwise) of a leg, leg pain, etc. But it normally wouldn't last a month. It doesn't sound like an emergency, but it might be worth going in for a regular physical and mentioning it to your doctor.

I'm pretty sedentary most of my day I get up I don't just not love but I'm not fairly active either but I just don't want to risk being wrong and dying. The pain feels better when I walk around and I had a ultrasound for a dvt scare about 5 months ago on my right leg and it didn't show anything.

Your legs may just be stiff from sitting all the time. Listen to them and get up and outside more often!
