One pupil bigger than the other?
« on: August 22, 2014, 10:08:56 PM »
I was looking in the mirror and it looked as if my right pupil was larger than my left and the right side of my face has felt kinda numbish off and on all day today
And not to mention I was having brain tumor fears mentioned in
This post: http://www.anxietyzone.com/index.php/topic,93630.0.html

I'm trying not to let anxiety win but it's very tough.

I have been doing random balancing things such as yoga poses to see of my balance is off but it seems to be ok.
I'm mad at myself for still thinking brain tumor when sixpack gave me such great advice.

I don't know about the pupils but I do have experience with numbness (perceived numbness) in the face. I sometimes feel numbness but when I actually "pinch" myself or touch the area I feel is numb, it really isn't numb at all. Anxiety causes so many symptoms. I just try to rationalize mine when I get them.

Please don't worry about this at all. Take it from me. Back in March I too noticed that my pupils were different sizes and started freaking out. Half my face would feel numb for entire days. I would feel dizzy as well, not to mention the tons of other symptoms I had that to me meant a definite brain tumor. Well guess what. I had an MRI and it was all clear. All it takes is for you to notice one thing, that actually means nothing, only for you to associate with something terrible and it's all downhill from there. I know all about the feeling. Your pupils very well may be different sizes as mine actually are, but 1 in 5 people in the general population just seem to have it. That's twice the occurrence of being left handed! It's so very common, but the differences are usually so small that you only notice it on yourself if you notice it at all.

this has happened to me.

you don't have a brain tumor.

stop doing self-testing, stop looking for abnormalities..

MOST anxiety occurs on a subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state

Thank you two for both replying.
I slept a little better last night and only woke up a few times.
My stomach being upset was one of the reasons
And then the left back side of my head feeling cold was another--
Trying my best to ignore the sensations.
Although I'm still kinda having that cold head feeling thing on the left side.

Hello, do you feel spaced out and foggy as well? In really struggling with this BT fear at the moment. My foggy feeling went away yesterday afternoon and it feels like it's back with a vengeance this morning

^ You're describing an anxiety symptom known as derealization. It's a very common symptom. If you stress the mind and body out for long enough with fears and worries then your mind will retreat in on itself and hence things around you don't feel real.

Reduce the stress and you'll reduce the symptoms it's that simple. Convince yourself of disease and you'll have your fight or flight response firing off constantly and get more symptoms.

Thanks ed. it's not nice at all. Thing is I felt better yesterday. I am also experiencing tingling in my feet and fingers as well. Does this sound like something to be concerned with?
