Hello I'm new here
« on: July 12, 2014, 04:55:02 PM »
Hi, I have dealt with anxiety since I was 14 and over the last 3 months I have gotten increasingly worse.  I lurked on this forum for some time before deciding to join.  I have had issues with health anxiety for as long as I can remember.  I am now 23 and over the past few weeks I have really deteriorated into a sea of despair and worry.  I am seriously considering medication at this point but I am terrified of the side effects.  Thank you and it's nice to meet all of you!

Hi Strawberry  :action-smiley-065:

I am very happy you are joining us, you will find many people here that can relate

I was reading your introduction and it sounds so familiar to me... I am almost positive it is ANXIETY that is at the root of this, In my case it was biological and not psychological, and it there are many methods available today to place this ANXIETY under control, and stop the anxiety attacks and Obsessive fears, that I also had in the past.

Also, since you are seeing your doctor on Monday, I would strongly encourage you to download, print and fill out the Self-Quiz and place them in a folder, so that you can take with you to show your doctor - It will really help you feel a lot less nervous and more prepared for your doctor's appointment and they will take you much more seriously.

Check out this helpful Links at this Website - so you can learn more about what you might be experiencing. - Self Test for Panic Disorder.  - GAD – Self Test - Depression for Women – self test  - Depression is Treatable,26.0.html – Social Anxiety overview - OCD - Self-test

Again, I would print out this material and especially the self-test and bring them with you to your next Dr. Appointment  :sign0169:

You are now taking the first steps to improving your life!

Again, Welcome !!!  You have a bright Future Awaiting  :nature-smiley-016:

Make sure to let us know your progress  :action-smiley-065:

Welcome to the forum. Good to have you as a member. Here you are with like minded people. People who understand. As we all suffer from something or other. So feel free to ask any questions. Our members are always willing to help others out. Good chatroom too. 3 posts to enter the room.

Find the correct section of the forum that suits your condition and create a new topic on it. This is just a welcome section. Never really get the same amount of help in this section as you would on the other sections of the forums. So whatever one suits the questions you are asking. Get much better answers.
All users of the chatroom must be 18 years old or over. The room is off limits to anybody under the age of 18.
