cymbalta or buspar? yes im posting in health anxiety forum
« on: July 08, 2014, 02:57:05 PM »
I need answers and feel I'll get more responses here and plus it is a fear it might affect my health one of these medicines so please dont move it.

Anyone have experience with either of them? I need these physical symptoms im having under control. I know it will take weeks before either medication takes effect but ive come to realize I need to be on a med. An SNRI or whatever the hell buspar is. What can I expect from these?  What would you prefer? Im going to run it by my doctor. Anyone?

Thanks

Hi Valley,   :action-smiley-065:  I have used both Cymbalta and Buspar.

Cymbalta was o.k. - be prepared for sexual side effects on most SSRI. ::)

Buspar (1-2 month usage)  - was totally useless for me, I would highly recommend a benzodiazepine in its place.

Hope this helps...

Are we using these for Anxiety, or Depression, OCD, or other reason?

I was only ever on a low dose of Buspar but I didn't feel like it helped me at all.  I agree with Never-Quit, I've had much more success with a benzodiazpine even at a really low dosage.

I haven't been on either on of those meds but just wanted to say that I hope it helps you quickly with very little side effects.

Fingers crossed for you.  Please update on how you feel.

I wish you the best. I have GAD, not health anxiety but nonetheless I remember well the stresses of trying a med and trying to find a balance. treatment is tough but worth it once you can find your combo of med/therapy/healthy lifestyle/etc  :action-smiley-065:
