Depressed reflexes
« on: July 03, 2014, 03:02:41 AM »
Just got back from the dr. After a neuro exam he said my left arms reflexes are depressed. Is this a symptom  of ALS?

It's a symptom of a lot of things, both worrysome and benign. ALS is far from the most likely explanation though. I'm sure your doctor would've said something if he were concerned.

did the doc become concerned about depressed reflexes?  Did he say this is serious?

My 16 yr old has weaker reflexes.  she doesn't have ALS.  She has mild hypotonia of the muscles.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.

Hyporeflexia is usually not associated with early ALS. Asymmetric hyper reflexia is.

Joyce as. Nom stated hypereflexia is consistent with als. We spoke before in depth about this you don't have it it's not even close. Stop googling.
