Anemia and Colon Cancer--The Journey is Almost Over
« on: June 24, 2014, 07:19:45 PM »
Well, almost two years after being diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia and being terrified of colon cancer, the torture ends this Friday when I have a colonoscopy. Thank you so much to everyone on this board who has supported me along the way. I will be sure to post the results as soon as I can. All positive vibes accepted!!

Good luck, I went thru the same thing. Low iron. I had colonoscopy done to rule out bleeding 6 weeks ago and it was all clear. I was scared because I had colon pain, diarreah, gas, etc.But it was all my IBS.

Please keep us posted! Chances are you are ok!

About to start drinking the Trilite. Getting really scared that I am going to wake up to find out I have stage IV colon cancer. Wasn't scared until tonight. :(

Ugh. The prep is harder than I thought it was going to be. It is making me really nauseated and I actually threw up one of the glasses of Trilyte just as I was about to finish it. :(

Prep has been much easier this morning that it was last night. Getting really scared of my results as my procedure, which is at 1:45, draws closer. I know everyone says I will finally have peace of mind, but I am scared that today is the day I will be diagnosed with colon cancer. :(

Best of luck!!  I went through the same thing a few weeks ago (anemia which led to colonoscopy & EGD).  I was scared out of my mind right before the test but nothing was found.  You are going to be alright!!!!  :)

Hey everyone. Well the two years of agony ARE OVER!! Colonoscopy came back just fine, not even a polyp! Don't have to go through this again until I am 50. To everyone on anxietyzone who has been there for me for the past two years as I agonized, speculated, and yes, even Googled, thank you so much for your support. I don't have words to express my appreciation. And don't worry, I am not going anywhere. I have a neurologist's appointment for possible premature brain atrophy that was incidentally found on a CT scan that I am terrified about, so look for me back here soon!

Great news. So happy for you!! I'm sorry there is still lingering anxiety and tests. Why did you have the ct scan of your brain??

Lindsay--had it last week after nearly five days of a fever over 101 and three fainting spells. Scared the crap out of my husband and he forced me to go. They did the CT to check for a brain bleed.
