Sinuses, tension, or brain tumor?! Please help
« on: June 21, 2014, 07:20:46 AM »
For the past week or so I have been having weird facial pressure (mostly eye and nose area) and around the top of my head pressure/dull ache. It comes and goes but pretty much every day. Wondering if this is allergies or sinus infection because  my nose is congested and it is summer, or if it's tension, because my neck and jaw hurt sometimes too. My worst fear is that it is a brain tumor. Please reassure me that it is not that serious! Does anyone have these symptoms too and what do you do?
Thanks

it isn't a brain tumor.  there is zero evidence that it is such a thing.  Lots of anxious folks jump to conclusions like that for no need.   :winking0008:

yes, sinus or tension or stress, or any number of minor type things can cause it.  sometimes sinus meds or ibuprofen can help this and sometimes not.

what would I do?  if it was really bothering me, i would take meds mentioned above.  if it didn't help, meh, I would shrug it off as just one of those weird things that happen in our bodies.

MOST anxiety occurs on a subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state

Sounds like sinuses and allergies cause I get that facial pressure too and in my forehead. Could also be tension. Try some allergy med or sudafed since your nose stays congested. That's more of a sign that it's an allergy problem. Allergies are no fun. :(

Hi Believe27,  :action-smiley-065:

I get these sinus headaches all the time, It will get so bad that my teeth start to hurt and the and a headache that never goes away, even after taking ibuprofen - I get the headache back in a couple of hours.  :sick0002:

Your Sinus can quickly be drained by pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30 mg - which is now only available at  pharmacy - you will need to show ID, because  there's a limit to the amount they can purchase.  I would avoid the alternative Sudafed PE  (phenylephrine) the "on the shelf" alternative which is inferior drug when it comes removing Sinus Congestion, from my experience

I hope you feel better  :action-smiley-065:

Thanks, you're right, it probably is just a sinus headache. Along with the sinus pressure and headache I get the tooth/jaw ache too! Will try the Sudafed.

I've been dealing with nasal congestion + facial/head pressure for a while now, along with one sided headaches.

It very much sounds like its allergies/sinus related. Brain tumors almost never cause headaches. Also doubt it's sinus infection, since you have no actual signs of infection.
