Ulcerative colitis or crohns
« on: June 20, 2014, 01:27:44 PM »
I was diagnosed with IBS a few years ago, but they never did any tests to rule out anything more serious. In the past two weeks I have had two major flare ups with diarrhea, vomiting, and a fever. I'm starting to really worry that I have ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. They can both be deadly and I'm really really worried.

Were these the symptoms you were having when diagnosed with ibs? Ibs shouldn't cause fever and vomiting. How long has this been go on? Sound viral if its not recurrent. If this is recurrent you should see a Gastro for a colonoscopy. Biopsies can test for both diseases. Are you having bleeding. UC usually causes bleeding.
