Fearing back pain is actually a heart attack

I've had back pain well forever but last few days it's bad. How do I know if it's my heart??? Freaking out!!!

If it was your heart, it's almost certain that you would have other symptoms too. Aside from that, the fact you've had it for a very long time would point more towards a muscular issue than anything else - possibly caused by something, such as the way you sleep or sit. You might want to see a doctor, see if they can figure out what the cause is :)

I have a spot in my upper mid back that aches off and on and has for years.  It's also very tender to the touch.  My doctor said it feels like I have a knot in my rhomboid muscle but who knows.  It's hurting right now, as a matter of fact.

I agree with rap_Talon that if it were heart related, there would be other things going on, as well.

If you'd been having a heart attack for three straight days, you'd be in serious trouble right now.  You have a long history of back pain; that's all you have now.
