Awake during surgery?
« on: June 15, 2014, 01:20:23 AM »
Anybody here ever had surgery done while awake under regional anesthesia? What is it like? Do you actually sit there watching the surgeon work on you? Does it make you feel sick?

I'm going to have this surgery done on my elbow. They are going to let me have regional and be awake due to my fear of general anesthesia. The problem is just watching this video makes my stomach upset. I dont know what Im going to be doing for 1 1/2 hours while they are in me.

Typically you don't get to see them - they'll but up a barrier to prevent that.  Stop watching videos of things that upset you.

I think they do what they do for c-sections and put up a curtain type thing.
