Yet another skin cancer fear
« on: June 14, 2014, 12:36:18 AM »
I just got over the one from last week, but my skin cancer fear is back again 😰 this time it's on my ear. My ear lobe was really itchy and I kept scratching at it and when I looked in the mirror he skin was peeling off. I figured I just burnt it because I spent all weekend last weekend outside biking. But I noticed what appears to be a light brown spot! It's not huge but it's not a tiny spot either. It looks slightly bumpy too and I'm not sure what it is. I'm really scared about it and it's taking everything in me to not rush to the er. I'm going to go to the clinic tomorrow and have a dr look at it but I really just need some reassurance right now. The spot I had last week turned out to be nothing but a freckle but this time I just can't stop thinking this is it, I'm gonna die. It doesn't really look like a typical freckle, but it doesn't look like a skin cancer either. I'm just really terrified right now. Please help. 😭

I am half-ginger. I cannot even begin to count how many 'weird' looking spots I have.

Skin cancer really is not a cancer worthy of your fear. I've known at least 5 people with skin cancer. Had the spot(s) removed. They're fine. Never suffered a day.
