going on 2 hour flight

Next Wednesday I'm going on a 2 hour flight and I'm very anxious about it. It's my first ever plane ride. Have you guys been on a plane ride with bad anxiety? What helped you calm down while on the plane? Or did you do things before it to prepare for it?

Bring an MP3 player with you. A good book. Something you can focus on. To take your mind away from the flight. Distraction will get you there and back in one piece.

I  just did this.  I had not flown in 7 years and the last time I flew I was terrified.  I went to Mexico and back last week and it was not nearly as bad as I had made it out to be in my head.  I did take an anxiety pill but I will say although I might always need an anxiety pill I don't dread flying anymore.   You will get through it.  I did distract myself by reading and listening to music at the same time during takeoff which is the time that really scares me.   A few bumps made me a tiny bit nervous but I decided to think it was no different than being in the car on a bumpy road.    You will be ok!   Oh I also talked to the pilot.  THAT HELPED ME TONS.   He was very kind and reassuring.
