Headaches...
« on: June 12, 2014, 12:10:02 AM »
I've been having these headaches for about a week now. They aren't there when I first wake up on the morning, but once I'm up for a bit they start and are on and off throughout the day. Sometimes it will only last for a few minutes and then disappear and then come back. It almost feels like a sinus headache, like there's pressure behind my nose and eyes. It's not a really intense pain...just kind of dull tension. Today I had some throbbing in my ear. Last week I was at the doctor complaining about brain fog that I had been having after he started me on effexor. I was only on it for three days and decided to stop but he said that the brain fog was for sure not from the med so he booked a CT which I'm going for tomorrow. The brain fog has since cleared up. I'm sure it'll be fine but I'm still a bit worried. Does anyone have any experience with these kind of headaches?? Not sure if it's stress related or what. So far I've been able to keep my anxiety down about it but the longer this goes on, the more nervous I'm becoming!

You're literally talking about my life right there, except in addition I have cloudy vision. I was freaked out (kind of still am) about a brain tumor. My doctor told me it is probably just sinus. She suggested taking Claritin every single day for a few weeks to see if that works. I'm hoping it does! The headaches are annoying and definitely don't help my anxiety! I suggest trying that. Many people actually have sinus problems even if they don't get symptoms such as a runny nose or anything like that. Hope everything goes well with the CT scan! Let us know how it goes!

Yes, this sounds like a sinus issue for sure. Or just plain allergies. That's what started off my HA battle. And  I get that brain fog feeling which is a symptom of allergies and anxiety. So for me it's hard to tell the difference. I'm taking Claritin and it helped with my foggy head and my eyes. It's not helping my facial pressure or nose so I'm gonna start using the neti pot and try some sudafed.

But can you have a sinus headache without congestion? Cuz I'm completely clear. Tylenol and Advil aren't really helping.

Yes I'm sure you can. Could be allergies and stress though too.
