Question for those with shortness of breath
« on: June 03, 2014, 08:53:32 PM »
I've have been dealing with shortness of breath since about Febuary and most of the time its not when I'm feeling anxious....I'm wondering for people who deal with this on a regular basis, how long have you been dealing with it? Needs some peace of mind....I'm convinced it was a PE now lung cancer

Thank you!

It could be caused by being overweight or very out shape, or allergies.

In your case does it happen when going up stairs or does it happen while you sit still?

Also how's your posture? Bad posture can sometimes add more pressure on the chest area or cause a collasped lung

I believe you are fine though :)

I've had SOB when i've not known I was anxious but I was. Like I couldn't get a full breath.. like my breath wasn't satisfying.

I can pretty much bet you it's anxiety. Horrrible anxiety!!! :(

I have shortness of breath everyday.... I even have it when I go up the stairs and do some mild physical activity. I am started to get concerned now. At first I thought it was because I was low in iron, but I ma getting iron infusions and my SOB is not getting better.... I have it sometimes too when I am not even moving like right now as I type this.... I guess it's anxiety. I started lexapro a few days ago, I am going to give it a couple of weeks more... if it doesn't get better I guess I wil have to go to the doctor.... I am so sick and tired of going to doctors.

I'm not overweight (though I am slightly out of shape), I get it sometimes when I'm working and sometimes when I'm resting. I use to have a lot of allergies and asthma and I think it's coming back (which would make sense) but I still nervous it's lung cancer but my doctor doesn't want to do anything else because in Decber I had blood work and a clear chest xray....

I am sure it's a combo of asthma and allergies as well as anxiety (you're on this forum so you must have some anxieties)... and lung cancer is very very unlikely, especially with clear bloods and cxr in December!

TRY and relax!!
