Freaking out - small trace of blood in urine
« on: June 03, 2014, 09:50:49 AM »
Hi

I went to my gp since on and off I would had cloudy urine. He sent my urine test for analysis to the lab and all came back normal. My urine would still get cloudy twice a week so I decided to go to urologist. Yesterday (three weeks from my GP visit) when I got there they did my urine test on the spot ( i guess they have machine to do that) and it came back with "blo trace-intact" Doctor said I have small trace of blood and they will send my urine sample for more testing. Also he have sent me for renal and pelvic sonogram. I told the doctor about cloudy urine and showed him picts i took and he said not to worry looks like nothing also I told him that I feel like i get some bubbles/foam and he said that was normal. Now Im freaking out that I might have some serious kidney or bladder disease. HA will kill me one day.

At the very worst expect a UTI.

Don't jump to conclusions.

Bubbles, foam, and cloudiness are all normal variants of p**s.

Yes, a UTI should have shown, but I seriously cannot imagine this being anything bad. Urine analysis would've also revealed a great deal about the possibility of it being something worse. Which it appears it has not.

Blood in urine can be caused by even something as boring as exercise and certain OTC medication.

are you a male/female? how old are you?
I have had traces of blood in my urine since I was 21. I am 37 now. I used to ger a lot of UTI's and recently I was diagnosed to IC. They sent me for the same tests you are mentioning and they didn't find anything.
I have read that it's not abnormal for some people to have traces of blood in their urine. Good luck!

The dipsticks often show false positive for traces of blood in urine!

Update:

Urinalyses came back ok from the lab. They tested for everything including cancer.
Dipstick today showed no blood trace.
Ultra-sonogram of kidneys and  bladder is fine too. The only thing they found is my bladder doesn't empty out completely.

Dr said just drink more water and check back with me in 6 months for quick sonogram at the office.

He said im fine but will I ever be fine ?!? ( i have so many other symptoms)
