Internal tremors and vertigo New here help
« on: May 30, 2014, 06:28:38 PM »
Hi everyone
I am new to the forum but not new to anxiety.
I suffered anxiety years ago, it was heart focused anxiety, and was always worried about my heart.

I had my second child March of last year and ever since I came out of my cesection I have had horrible vertigo. I seen SO many doctors and had every dang blood test mri catscan you name it I had it!

Everything came back normal besides my left ear was 73% weaker according to this caloric testing at the ENT.

I became  "immune" to the vertigo and just started to accept my new dizzy life.
I was a healthy 29 year old women with no issues prior to this.

Last Wednesday I woke up to the room spinning violently.
I went straight to the ent and he said BPPV, but yet didn't see it in my eye. Went to my primary same thing. Told me to go to therapy fotr my ears. I did and im STILL DIZZY. I tried every medication possible. doesn't work.

I woke up wesneday this week with these crazy Internal tremors. I feel like my legs and body is convulsing on the inside. Its SO SCARY> I am scared I have some sort of nerve infection or infection in my blood( I had a small patch or shingles on my left side back 6 weeks ago)

Went back to my primary and was pushed anti depressants. I filled them but didn't take it yet.

Went BACK to the neurologist today and she said I seen fine and they want to put me on anti depressants because the think it is anxiety induced. She reordered another MRI (just to be safe had mine 10 months ago).

I asked her over and over and she said "its not neurological"

The tremors will NOT go away. I am freaking out and scared. I took Xanax in hopes to help and it doenst. My hands do not visibily shake but I feel like my insides are going crazy.

I have been under EXTREME stress the past month due to a lawsuit and my husband losing his job

Sorry this is so long but can anxiety really make these tremors. I feel like I drank tons of caffine( I do not drink or smoke I am a total health advocate!)

I feel crazy.....

PLease help...

My grandmother had extreme vertigo for a really
Long time (she is 65). They gave her tons of test and found out she has
Meniers disease (sp?) . It involved her ear
Drum. She had her right ear drum removed and now she is back to normal ... No more

I'm having something so similar....maybe just not as severe but I've still been freaking out over it for several days now. I had a bad episode of vertigo a few days ago which scared me so much, I've never experienced that before! Since then I've been obsessing over it and I started having what feels like jerky muscle movements or like muscle twitches or something. I really don't know how to describe it. I honestly think it's just anxiety though, it just sucks because even though I think this, I can't seem to make it stop :( . I'm also having pain in my face, headaches, a I feel like I'm in a dream.

Both of these phenomena can be caused by anxiety. I've gone through exactly what you're describing. Audiologist, MRIs, everything. It all came back normal. The dizziness never left me once for a month (until I developed a new, worse fear). Don't exclude the possibility that this is anxiety. I would still see an audiologist if I were you just to be certain.

Oh, by the way. There's a really easy way to tell if it's BPPV. Look up how to reset the crystals in your ear (I know how this sounds; I'm serious).

You don't need to go to therapy for this. The movement is easily performed yourself. I can't recall the name of the treatment.

Omg Sam that is exactly to a T how I am feeling!!!!
Woke up with te scariest worst vertigo and now it's lingering and these inner tremors!!
When I don't focus on then they are not as bad but I cannot belie thy anxiety can cause such a weird symptom. My obsession for years was my heart so I always "knew" my anxiety feelings
This takes it to a whole new level
Omnomonon--
Yes I've been doing vestibular therapy doesn't seem to do much though :-(

The one time I actually had BPPV it took 24 hours after 'treatment' before the dizziness went away. I know it's supposed to be instantaneous, but maybe it takes time before you feel corrected. I'unno. My money's on strictly anxiety causing your symptom as it did with mine most recently.

I get the internal tremors or vibrating. I think vibration is a good word
For it. I get it when I'm sleeping and it wakes me up. Freaked me out the first couple times!

Yes that is exactly it! I woke up from it a few times. And my head was shaking so bad(or so it seemed) Now whenever I sit still on a chair or couch I feel like my whole body is vibrating. When I go to reach for something too its like I am shaking and trembling. Its so scary.

I went to the doctor today and freaked out so bad that he put me on Effexor and referred me to a psychologist! He also did some bloodwork, I'm really starting to wonder if maybe there is something going on with my thyroid?? I am trying to relax but am still having twitching and still feel like I'm in a dream like state. I hate this!!!

I went through these same motions. Even suspecting my thyroid. In all likelihood it is only anxiety. Begin to consider this as a plausible reason.
