Went to the doctor
« on: May 29, 2014, 12:17:35 AM »
So I went to the doc today to see what's up with a couple things. I'm pretty much convinced I have HIV . I developed a swollen lymph node under my chin and an intermittent sore throat for a couple weeks so the doctor told me the rash on my legs looks like poison ivy and that my lymph node isn't too swollen and I shouldn't be worried.. I took two rapid hiv tests in the last two weeks both negative and my last risk event was about two and a half months ago so all signs look negative but I'm so worried still that I'm starting to not be able to function at work and other places I just want this anxiety to go away I don't know whether to believe that I should give up on this whole hiv scare or should I countinue testing every couple of weeks?? :(( please help

I think you know in your rational brain that you almost certainly don't have HIV.  I think the smart thing to do would be to stop checking and try to regain control of your life, but I know that's easier said than done.  The nonstop testing will just fuel your anxiety more in the long run.
