Question about stool. Tmi
« on: May 28, 2014, 08:47:29 PM »
I've never been too concerned about this, but all of sudden have the fear. About 1 in 10, or 1 in 15 times I wipe after a BM there's blood on the toilet paper. I don't see any traces in the stool
But maybe there is. I'm 18 years old and do not have abdominal pain but my BM seem to vary frequently between thick and thin and in whole form. Should I be worried about
Cancer?

Hi play,

Is the blood bright red?  If so, it's possible you have a hemorrhoid.  They are quite common and nothing to worry about.  They can be aggravated when you wipe a little too vigorously or frequently.  With anxiety, comes tummy issues, and sometimes diarrhea, and wiping frequently can cause irritation and some blood.

The blood definitely isn't dark, I suppose it's somewhat bright. Anxiety seems to cause all of my symptoms from chest up, I rarely have diarrhea or any stomach pain. Just constipation

Hemorrhoid or fissure, probably.  Switch to baby wipes instead of paper for a while and see if that helps.

If blood is appearing separately from the stool meaning only on the TP it is most commonly a fissure or hemorrhoid. Internal hems can also leave fresh blood streaks on the stool surface. If this probably continues talk to your doctor. At your age is almost certain it is nothing serious.

Odds are it is nothing, but since it continues to happen, I would consult your physician.
Cancer at your age would be an extremely remote chance.
