My ct scan was 1,455. It was of sinuses and top of head. Without contrast.

Do not take Halidol...that drug is out of vogue and definitely NOT for an anxiety sufferer.  You NEED an SSRI.  Contact your GP :)

The meclizine is an anti dizziness pill, often used for motion sickness.  The insurance probably wouldn't cover the scan since it's not for diagnostic purposes and he doesn't have a medical reason for it.  They don't like to pay for things without medical necessity.

Soaring,
He wrote down Brain Tumor for the DX on the script. I am sure he would have pushed for the scan if he thought something was seriously wrong right?

He put me on halidol for my nervous tics and vocal tics that I have had for like 15 years. And a low dose can be good for severe anxiety and mental wellness. I read its better than valium.

You sound like me. I have a fear of same thing. I really do believe if he thought it was even a possible chance it was a tumor he would have not took any chances. He has good experience with those who do have brain Tumors. I wish I could sit and talk to one so it would end my fear and I even had ct scan. And I try to remember my drs knew my concern of a brain tumor and one said you worry too much. I'm surprised he didn't do a nuerological exam. My main dr did a small one and said my balance was a good thing! Brain Tumors are very rare.

I should mention he did a brief neuro exam on me. Listened to my symptoms for about 20 minutes. Said he will get me a CT Scan for reassurance but can guarantee it will come back normal. Obviously the scan never happened, I still have the script, and if I'm alive by August or if I still feel this way, i'll get the scan. He mentioned an MRI first and asked if I was claustrophobic and I said yes, he then said ok a CT Scan and these are only for reassurance.

Ok. Well he's a brain dr and he thinks you are fine then just try to relax and see what the meds do. Don't google. I'm sure you will be just fine!

Yeah I am sure he knows what he has soon and what he is doing. I have a slight headache now, im just hoping it does not get worse or I will attribute that to my dizziness and nausea and really freak out.

I hope I get better sleep tonight... the last 2 nights, I have woken up every 45 minutes all night entire night, and couldnt go back to sleep ever.

I hope you can get some sleep too. The meclizine will make you tired.

Valley my friend.....glad to hear the neuro feels you are alright.  He's a very educated man and won't steer you wrong....do not second guess what he's doing.  Like he said, if he really thought you had a tumor, you'd get that scan regardless of your insurance.

I'm sure if you take both the Haldol and you meclizine, you'll be sleeping well this evening.  Are you planning on taking your meds this evening?  Are you taking any other meds or will these be the only ones?

Valley, please make sure to ask your pharmacist about taking these all at the same time or whether they need to be taken at different times throughout the day.  I just want you to be knowledgeable and safe....I don't know anything about taking meds with one another

My dr told me to not take meclizine with Xanax. So I needed Xanax more. But yet I had a friend that took both together. So just find out from the pharmacist.

I think the Haldol and Xanax a few ours apart....that it would just make me really tired or something since Haldol is a sedative. I do not know though, but I dont know why the Neurologist would Rx me that stuff if I couldnt take them together. He said hopefully the Haldol will make me not need the xanax so much.

I will ask pharamacist tomorrow though for sure.
