swollen lymph node
« on: May 26, 2014, 05:11:09 PM »
My dad is 57 and has a swollen lymph node in his groin. I rushed him to er last Friday because I am HA and I instantly thought its cancer. I scared that poor man. He was very calm and did not think of anything bad. I wish I was like him but anyway, they checked his blood, ct of abdomen and the area and nothing showed abnormal. Actually everything looks good. The lymph node is slightly swallow but he said he was lifting lots of heavy chairs night before at work and thatís when it happened. Could that really be a reason? The ER doctor was the nicest I have ever encountered and it was 11am so they were not busy at all. He was not worried at all and just prescribed him naproxen. But I am still freaking out!!!! He never had colonoscopy and he smokes :( so it worries me even more. I scheduled him an appointment this Wednesday to get Endo and Colonoscopy for him just to play safe. I just wish I could be calm like he is. :dazed:

It's so hard worrying about the people we love!  And at his age he probably should be getting a colonoscopy just to be on top of things.  But I really think you have nothing to worry about.  If a CT of the area was normal it's unlikely that he has a tumor or something causing the swelling.
