Sinus Problems
« on: May 20, 2014, 01:49:08 PM »
So I have now for 4 weeks sinus problems. first it started with a headache and sinus pressure . 2 weeks later I started to have fever 100.4 degrees and my nose started to run . I went to the doctor he gave z-pack as antibiotic for 5 days it took the pressure out of my face. Last Friday I went again and he gave me Augmentin for 8 days 2 pills a day and Allegra d 12 hours  and nasonex. I still have sometimes mild pressure and when I shake my head it hurts a little bit. From my right nose hole comes white mucus and from my left comes sometimes yellow out . I hope I don't have cancer that is my big worry. Even my doctor checked me up and said is a acute sinusitis but I don't get away to think about cancer that makes me even dream about it so I wake up in the middle of the night. Hope somebody can help me??

No cancer, it's sinusitis! Listen to your doctor!

I'm having sinus headaches/pressure from seasonal allergies (today is really bad). I have a brain tumor fear, so of course I keep thinking it's that. But it's allergy season & everyone is saying allergies are really awful this year, so I keep telling myself that's all it is. Yeah, it sucks, but it'll pass. Follow your doctor's instructions & you'll get better.

Yup, if I shake my head there's pain/pressure. Also sometimes when I bend over or when I stand up.

It amazes me how many of us think we have a brain tumor! In feb I began to feel off balance and cause if not being able to see dr right away, it got worse and everytime I walked or felt off balance my anxiety shot up to the sky. And put me in the bed and dr google had me convinced I had a brain tumor. I was having pressure in my forehead and vision was off. And post nasal drip making me so sick and nasal congestion. I saw ent and it was chronic sinusitis and allergies and ct scan showed it and showed no Tumors.

It's not cancer. It's sinus issues and allergies and yes seems everyone has had bad cases of them this year. Don't google. It will make it all worse! Trust me.

I'm havimg pretty much the same thing right now. I dont have a fever yet its just pressure and headahes. When I told my doctor today he told me absolutely no way is it a brain tumor and is insistening I go on lexapro so I stop having all this anxiety. He also told me that he's had about 25-30 patients coming in with the exact same symptoms. I  told him I didnt want to take an antibiotic so he recommended allegra d and sent me on my way.

He is right. So hopefully the Allegra d will help you. I'm taking Claritin.
