So ITCHY- Any idea?
« on: May 17, 2014, 12:27:54 PM »
The last two weeks my inner thigh, butt and even genital area have been so itchy..I donate regularly so I know it's not any big std. I have a lot of stretch marks and they seem to be irritated after I itch also. It's becoming really annoying. Not that worried just tired of itching..maybe the skin is dry or something. My gf has these random tiny bumps all over that are itchy and come and go she says she's always had them. Idk anymore.

Sill convinced I have als from the nonstop four months of twitching.

It could be dry skin if you live in a cooler climate.( I live in Florida so that's not much of an issue here.). Try a hypoallergenic moisturizer and see if that helps.  You also may be having a reaction to your laundry detergent.  Those are some of the most sensitive parts of your body so if you are going to have a reaction that's where it would be.  Have you changed brands recently?  Or maybe the brand you use changed their formula?  This happened to my mother and the symptoms were the same.  She switched to a hypoallergenic brand ...Purex I think...and the problem went away in a few days.

I have had underarm and side boob itching, for a few weeks now. No rash, no redness, no visible bumps, I don't think any lumps. I am not enjoying the anxiety is is bringing with it :(
The areas that you describe as being itchy could be something to do with heat rash or yeast infection.

Yeast infection for a male? Probably hard to get. I'm going to change some stuff up. We shall see. Thanks for the input. Let me know how it goes for you!

Yeah, seeing as it's in a damp, moist area, could be yeast infection? I didn't know it's harder for a male to get this, is it?
I'm still itchy. Still not happy about it. Worry worry worry.

Yeast infection is pretty unlikely unless you've taken loads of antibiotics in the recent past.

Dust mites? It could be simple allergies. I've kinda been itching like crazy lately (anxiety makes it worse), but mine is worse at night, leading me to think it's dust mites.

What are you using as a soap?  My doc told me to use anti bacterial soap on my butt and around the genital area but not IN the genital area to help prevent recurrences of UTI's. WELL........ I did for a few days and developed a rash and HORRIBLE itch. Looked it up and the Mayo Clinic says the number one cause of itching in the butt area is cleaning too vigorously or using ...... anti bacterial soaps!  For that, a 1% hydrocortisone for a few days or Desitin or talcum powder.

Another cause was yeast which is called JOCK ITCH in guys. Same med as for females or athletes foot.

Sweating was another cause.  Anyhow, it said if itching and rash last for more than 2 months after trying the above to see a doctor.  Gold Bond powder or talcum powder was the treatment for that. We buy it at the dollar store.
