Hi everyone, im new here and i dont know if im posting this in the right place, but i hope i am
(sorry if this is lengthy)
I have had hypochondria for a really long time, it started after a doctor suggested that i had symptoms of cancer. After that it was all i could ever think about, however when i got all the tests back they were fine but i had become obsessed with the idea that i would be diagnosed with a terminal illness or any illness for that matter.
For the years that followed this, i would hear about certain diseases off people or on tv etc and soon enough, convince myself i had it. This included many types of cancer, heart disease, tumors etc. Another incident was when one of my friends got alopecia and all of her hair fell out. i soon started to believe that my hair was falling out and it even begun to due to the amount of stress i was experiencing. That was just an intro so you understand the way i am when it comes to illnesses.
Recently i have found out that someone i know has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, at first i didnt know much about it and got people to explain it to me, i even researched it a bit to find out more. So you know how it goes, i now think i may have it, the idea of this has been causing me a lot of stress for a while now and has caused me to have a great deal of panic attacks (and i mean a lot).
so i have had the following symptoms for months now, they include: muscle pain, cracky joints, muscle twitches (in pretty much every part of my body), tingling sensations mainly on my back/shoulderblades and arms, fatigue. i went to a neuro because of my concern and he tested me and said i had nothing to worry about. however i have noticed that these symptoms have been getting a lot worse and im not coping that well, its all i think about and i find it very hard to focus on anything else, it has caused many many emotional breakdowns, and my ADD has gotten worse
what i really would like to know is if anyone else here has ever experienced the same thing? or knows if anxiety and stress could cause these symptoms (tingling, twitching, weakness)?
thanks for reading, i know its long and thanks to anyone who responds
