One numb, cold foot...worried about MS!
« on: May 11, 2014, 07:43:00 AM »
Hello,

This is my first time posting.

I am in my early 20s, have had anxiety and HA for a while now however I am on anti-depressants which have really helped.

I am a bit worried at the moment though as for the past 2 nights my right foot has been quite cold and numb for hours.

A few years ago the doctor did say I have Raynaud's (which causes my hands and feet to be very cold and stiff at times) and also a vitamin b12 deficiency which I am aware can cause numbness.

However I have never had this numbness and coldness in just one foot. It only seems to be at night time - no problems during the day. I have also been lying down both nights. I am starting to worry it is MS. My foot works completely fine, there are no issues in the regard. Just feels numb, but not numb to the touch if that makes any sense. It is cold to the touch.

I have also noticed my feet have been falling asleep quite quickly lately if they have any pressure on them..

Not sure what is going on but I am hoping someone has some advice as the though of MS terrifies me (of course)

Thankyou!

You don't have MS. My aunt has MS and her feet actually get numb to the point where she can't even walk on them because she literally can't feel them. I am sure that a lot of this is anxiety-induced because my feet fall asleep a lot and were cold and numb back when I had awful anxiety too. I am 100% sure you don't have MS, and if its anything its probably what you mentioned about Raynauds and vitaminb12 deficiency.

Different types of vitamin deficiencies can definitely cause some numbness.

This.

Also, it could simply be poor circulation.
