cant sleep through the night.. why....
« on: May 11, 2014, 05:40:00 AM »
i have woken up at 1/2 am then again at 3/4 am every single night for the last seven nights. I am tired when I fall asleep and I have been going to the gym for 2 1/2 weeks now. I have no idea why I cant sleep well. Now im up at 530 am because im worried. I am freaking out about a brain tumor and of course I had googled and on a site it said disruption of sleep was a symptom. so besides my dizzy spells, my lightheadedness, off balance sensation like on an elevator, and my random tingling in my fingers , I now have this.

Maybe you could try a natural supplement such as magnesium, melatonin or niacin?
They all can assist in improving sleep.
I am sure that fact that you are focusing so much on your sleeping, counting how many days this has been happening etc, isn't helping. Your mind is subconciously worrying about it, and that might be why you are waking up at the same time every night.

I have the off balance (elevator feeling, as you describe it) feeling too, almost 24/7 so terrifying, and my worst symptom.
Hope you feel better,

Cutecat---how long have you had that off balance feeling, mine is 2 months now, its awful.

I have tingling in my right hand index finger this morning now since waking up. Yesterday it was my left hand pinky finger. Go figure.

When are you going to the gym? If you go at night it will keep you awake. I have also had the off balance for two years and I have constant anxiety. Mine has gotten better since last year but still suffering everyday. Like CuteCat said you can't keep counting the days and hours you sleep it does make it worse. I had that problem 20 years ago it finally went away with acupuncture and not thinking about it. Hope it gets better for you soon.

Stress and anxiety can cause sleep disturbances and that is what may be causing your sleep issues.

One of my students had vertigo and used a natural body motion method that pretty much cured it even after meds didn't work.  It went something like this:  lay on your back and turn your head to the left and hold for 30 seconds, then back to the right for same, then back left for ten and then to the tight for same.  The idea is that it resets your inner ear.  I could ask her for the specifics if you are interested.  She does it take every six weeks and hasn't had a single episode in almost a year now.
