Flashes of light in periphery
« on: May 04, 2014, 11:19:02 AM »
Does anyone ever get flashes of tiny white light in your peripheral vision?  I went through a bad phase of HA in February and March.  April was a good month and then a few weeks ago, I had the unexpected loss of a good friend.  Now, my HA and anxiety is back in full force.  Both times my HA has been bad, I have had weird dizziness (almost like brain zaps) and then these flashes of white light in my peripheral vision.  I would like to think it is stress and anxiety related, but of course my head is saying it is something more sinister.  So, anyone else have this to make me feel better lol....

Yeah, anxiety can do that. I tend to get dark spots rather than flashes. But if its happening at the same time as the anxiety, and not at all when you don't ahve anxiety, its the cause. Minor hallucinations are pretty common with bad anxiety.

I have gotten the flashes for several years and my eye doctor said she did't feel it was a big deal. I really don 't even think about it any more.

Thanks guys!!  Just hearing those things makes me feel better.  I have had anxiety forever, so I know I should trust that is what it is, but it is so hard sometimes.  Thanks again :)

I have gotten flashes for four years now and they are harmless ocular migraines. They get worse with stress and anxiety so you will see the flashes more frequently.
