My dad had bowel cancer surgery 2 weeks ago and they took fat and lymph nodes to be examined to see if it has spread and whether he needs chemo. I'm getting very concerned and not coping very well with the wait and starting to catastrophize the outcome. Dad has had lymphoma in the past and now I'm starting to think they've found that in his lymph nodes as well as bowel cancer cells and I've convinced myself that this is why it is taking them so long to get back with the results. The doctor said he'd expected it back by now. Any ideas anyone - how can I try to convince myself it will be ok???
