Feel like I'm losing my mind
« on: April 21, 2014, 10:13:00 PM »
I've went an done it to myself again haven't had a panic attack for months and I was out drinking all day yesterday and all night and up really drunk and took cocaine. I don't know why I did it cos it makes my anxiety 10 times worse and now I feel mixing it with my medication is going to mess my brain up. I'm on citalopram 20mg and propanolol 40 mg it's been 24 hour since taking the cocaine. I've got like a pressure feeling in my brain and struggling to breath. Also having bad derealisation or whatever it's called. I won't make the mistake of taking it again feel like I've really let myself down going to try and stay of the alcohol aswell from now

Calm down, remember you've gotten through this before you'll get through it now.

Propranolol and cocaine should not mix, ever, because cocaine increases your heart rate while propranolol disallows it to increase. They interact. But since the cocaine is out of your system you should be fine. Just drink a lot of water.

Propranolol and alcohol will dehydrate you so again, drink water.

You're not losing your mind. No matter how bad it feels, anxiety alone cannot cause you to go crazy. Meditate a few times today, just five or ten minutes at a time. You'll be just fine.
