Yellow stool
« on: April 19, 2014, 10:46:54 AM »
Hello,
Sorry to post again :-(
I have been very anxious the last 8 months: I was somehow convinced I had a problem with my pancreas. I had a CT scan 6 months ago which was clear. This morning my stool were light brown but somehow well formed. But when I wiped, it was kind of yellow. How can this be ?  I am just scared I have a problem with my liver or pancreas.

Was it slimy (or a little slippery)?   If so that's just mucus.  I always get that, so do many people on this board that I've seen posting in the past.

No I do not think it was mucus. It was just a normal consistency with a yellow color.
The weird thing is that the color of the stool was kind of normal.
BTW, thanks for answering ;)

I had that for a little while. I'll just tell you what my doctor told me:

If it's not consistently red or "black and tarry" (ie more than a couple times), don't worry about it. Red and black could potentially be a sign of bleeding (as well as eating chocolate, licorice, etc).

It could still be mucus.   Mucus in the rectal area IS a yellow color.  If your stool itself was a normal color then you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks for tour answers.
My stools are clearly not yellow and even kind of dark brown sometimes.
