Tumor or herpes?
« on: April 17, 2014, 07:42:41 PM »
I have herpes. I knew my husband had it before we started dating. Eventually I ended up getting it. I also have a carcinoid tumor in my rectum. Well I a currently having a bad outbreak. I have a swollen, tender groin node. I know that herpes can cause this but I am scared the tumor has spread and that is why it is swollen.

Herpes is usually just herpes. I have outbreak every 2 years on back/stomach cause of stress most likely. It causes enlarged lymph nodes too.

I would go to dermatologist if you haven't gone already, since you need to put some cream on it.

What hypo said. Herpes is herpes. I usually dont get outbreaks and if i do they arent bad but stress can trigger them and i have been under a lot of stress.  The lypmh node is not as bad this morning but it is still a little swollen. Hypo, the outbreak is going away. I do have medicine. I always went to my ob/gyn. I never knew i could go to a derma and get cream. I always had pills which i dont like taking.

Iamhealthy....its not fun thats for sure. The first outbreak is usually the worst. To be honest, i dont even think about it until i get an outbreak. Tanks for the well wishes for the tumor. My appointment is in may to hopefully get it removed. Two weeks away. It definitely doesnt seem to be a fatal prognosis but still scary

I was always applying some cream, though I believe it goes away faster with pills.
