There's no set time.  Could be a few days or a week or two.  Depends on your doctor, etc.  But if they let you leave the facility there was nothing obviously wrong with you.

They did the initial read to see if there were any additional images needed or if there was something that needed attention.  Then it's read by 1 or 2 other people, transcribed and sent to your Dr.  Length of time is based on the number of scans and urgency.

I read your other post and you were what we used to term a "hold and call", you didn't leave the facility until we called your Dr and he was satisfied you were OK

That is NOT correct about 'if something is wrong they won't let you leave'.  I've left with a liver tumor and the techs were all smiles and back patting.  The people doing the CT scan check for unfuzzy images, etc. and cannot dx lumps, bumps, etc.

I was told a few weeks ago that many radiologist now work from home on their computers. Depending on how many film they get it a day, it usually takes two days for them to compare to old scans, check new scans, write reports and send them by email to the doctor.

It depends on the doctor, I once had an MRI of the brain and the doctor called me the
next morning with all is OK. I had an MRI of the abdomen and the GI physician took
3 weeks to call me back, I thought I was finished. He called me with all is fine, and I
was so relieved that I went out and bought a Rolex watch that I really should not have
bought, but felt I deserved it for what I went through. That was the first and last time I
ever did that.
