Reflux pains
« on: April 10, 2014, 12:45:21 AM »
I was diagnosed a few years ago with acid reflux. I also have anxiety on top of it. I take meds for both. Lately I have been having chest pains, pain in my left arm, the center of my back, and headaches daily. I'm 28 years old, but not very active. Are these pains anxiety or heart related? I'm terrified it is my heart. And that's all I can focus on which only makes the pains worse. Please help! I am afraid to eat anything that I would enjoy fearing that it will damage my heart. I am afraid to exercise. I am so out of shape and tired of worrying!

its probably not your heart. Have you tried just taking some chewable antacids? They usually reduce the symptoms enough to make it clear that they were from acid reflux.

I eat tums like they're candy! I'm just so tired of the pain all the time! And the worrying what each pain is! I am missing out on so much of my life from living in this fear!

I would call your physician and be very specific as to your symptoms and concerns.
