worried about ovarian cancer
« on: April 09, 2014, 05:25:49 PM »
Hello all,

I'm a 20 year old female and my periods have stopped for the last 2 months. I have never skipped a period since I started menstruating and so this is very unusual for me. I went to a doctor when I skipped the first month who ran some blood tests; CBC, LH and FSH levels and thyroid check,  and said everything looked fine although my white blood cell count was slightly below average but she was not worried about that. Now my period has skipped the second month and I don't know why. I had one day of small dark spotting which is also unusual for me. Lately I've been having abdominal and pelvic pain, feeling like I want to throw up and constantly being bloated.

I think I will go in for an ultrasound soon but I am so worried about ovarian cancer.

Anyone have any idea why my period is missing??

Are you more active than usually or were you recently sick?  As much as it scares us, it's really not that unusual to skip periods.  If your hormone levels we're good, you're fine.  I would not worry about ovarian cancer at all.

Could also be PCOS. Try no to stress and have an ultrasound to ease your mind.
