I hear and smell a lot of things that my family won't smell a lot of the time.
I have a huge fear of Schizophrenia and I think these might be hallucinations.
Like my mom put a steak in the microwave to un thaw and I could smell it, from
like 13 feet away.  I asked her if she could and she said no.  Is this common?

I have the same thing except... even more sensitive. It's not a problem, and the sad fact is that unless the person you talk to has it, they won't understand it. Still doesn't make it a problem though. So long as the sounds don't start telling you to kill people, you probably shouldn't worry about it.
