Last winter, I'd say around December, I began breaking out in hives at night. They only appeared between 8 PM and 2 AM. No matter what I did - changing soap, using lotion, staying cool, etc - I always broke out. There were no other symptoms so I didn't go to the doctor.
A month or two later I went to the ER for unrelated reasons. I apparently had a UTI, though that wasn't related to me going to the ER. I had no symptoms of an infection - I used to get them until early elementary so I know how they feel - like burning or problems peeing so I was confused. I took antibiotics and my hives disappeared.
I wonder what caused the hives. Can a UTI cause them or could they be a symptom of a different issue? I have no hives anymore, just the occasional rash on my chest or face.
I've worried about Lyme Disease considering that and all my symptoms however: A. I'm a total shut-in. B. I live in the city. C. I've never even been to a forest. D. Aside from a few weeks ago when my temp went down to 95, and the occasional 99, I haven't had a fever. E. I've had several blood tests and they've come out fine, though none checking for lyme.. I know certain blood and gastrointestinal cancers can cause hives but I'm trying to ignore the thought.
