Going to doctors tomorrow, wish me luck!
« on: April 04, 2014, 12:15:52 AM »
Alright.

This is the first time I've decided to go to the doctors to actually put my mind at ease. My mind for the past 3 days as been abuzz with the fear that these pulses and twitches in my lower abdomen is caused by an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (despite the fact that I'm a healthy 19 year old girl with no history of high blood pressure). The main reason why I'm going is because the test is relatively easy (doctor checks out your abdomen, listens with a stethoscope and if they feel the need - will send you for a ultrasound).

I'm a little bit nervous about getting through tonight (I probably won't get much sleep) and I'm also a little nervous about what the doctor will say tomorrow, but I'm staying positive and telling myself that this is just to reassure my brain and that all should wind up well.

If he says that you're fine then believe it.  Don't start down that dangerous road of saying "What if he missed something"

Just came from my Pediatrician.

My doctor checked out my stomach, she was very thorough with feeling around and listened with a stethoscope. She told me she did not hear anything out of the ordinary nor did she feel any masses (I didn't suggest the idea of an AAA). I still feel the pulse, and I still get the twinges in my abdomen, but I feel a bit better knowing that the doctor didn't see anything wrong with me. She did say I should go for some bloodwork just because I haven't done so in a while.
