Three weeks on Buspar, it seems to be helping
« on: April 02, 2014, 01:43:28 AM »
I've been on Buspar for 3 weeks. It seems to be helping.  I started at just 7.5 mg.  Now at 15 mg and will see my doctor this week.
I know the maximum recommended dosage is 60 mg.
The influence of the med has not been as dramatic as prozac was.  But overall, I do sense my stress levels are low and manageable.
And I'm getting more done at work!  And no big anxious moments.

I've heard if Buspar is going to work for you, it could take up to 6 weeks for full effect.  For me I know with prozac, it took almost 4 months to fully
kick in but it made a big difference.  So I am patient.   ::)

4 to 6 weeks. Then you will know if it is working well for you or not. It seems to be doing something good at the moment. Suppose the real test will come if you ever get really anxious. Though medication is only part of the answer. It takes the edge off of the anxiety. We have to do a lot of hard work ourselves. Breathing exercises and the likes. Telling ourselves that bad moments will pass. Put our work and the medication together and you can learn to live a good life once more. Keep up the good work.
