Hi everyone. I'm new to the site, although I've browsed it in past years. I was "normal" until my 30s, when I got a horrible stomach bug that lasted 3 months and spiraled into twitching, tingling and a host of other problems. I had never heard of health anxiety, but the constant parade of specialists I was sent to quickly threw me into it. Nothing like hearing an OB say "Well you probably just have MS..." to mess with your head. My GP was a young woman looking to make connections, and she sent me to doc after doc (urologist, neuro, GI, kidney, OB...) to figure out what was going on. After a year, I had enough and quit. Never saw her again. I read something about how celiac can cause neuro and GI problems, so I cut that out of my diet, and within 2 months I was 90% cured. I'd put the number at 99.9% now. Problem is that now I don't trust doctors, and have health anxiety. Little things have added to the problem. I had a small spot on my arm that I asked to be removed for 3 years. The derm kept saying it was nothing, until she relented, took it off, and told me that it was basal. So I have trust issues. And while I know some of my symptoms are real, I tend to jump to the worst case scenario. So I'm hear to try and get a grip on it. I used a similar site to get rid of my BFS (benign fasciculation syndrome) years ago, so I'm hoping it will work again. Thanks!
