I did a stupid thing yesterday and Googled if being a premie has issues later in life. I read an article that said premature young adults have a 30% higher risk of dying in their 20s and 30s compared to others. It's still low for it to happen but..
Ugh, I got worried. I was 3 months premature, had a clubbed foot, and at age 8 I had surgery to stop scolosis from getting worse. I've had hypothyroidism, I'm asthmatic, I've had arthritis since elementary, and my doctor thinks I have PCOS. I feel like a walking time bomb now. Who knows if I'll get diagnosed with something new or something else will go wrong.
My grandpa was a premee too and he's almost 70 and relatively fine. But then again he is healthier than me. He doesn't have asthma or anything, just a few injuries due to accidents.
