Bad back and fear of getting older

I have three bulging discs and my back "goes out" one to two times a year and I have trouble getting around for two days or so. This just happened yesterday. I'm fine and then I felt pain and can barely function. I'm 42 and terrified It will get worse as I get older that i'll become dependent to do simple tasks. Right now i can barely get out of bed to use the bathroom.

I do exercises for my back, see a chiropractor, walk around the office, and ride a recumbent back but it doesn't change the pattern.

Tension, anxiety easily settle in the back. So you want to learn to relax (perhaps tai chi, meditation) and maybe give yoga a try. In the first yoga class I took a man told me yoga kept him out of a wheel chair. Never forgot that, believed him. No youngster either, neither am I.

If you were given exercises you want to do them every day. Even just walking may help. Then perhaps consider a therapist and/or meds might help, or an introduction to CBT. Wishing you the best.
