Nausea ... I just don't get it
« on: March 25, 2014, 08:29:21 AM »
When I first had my HA 2 years ago, I had this weird nausea/sick to my stomach feeling that lasted a few months, which was on/off. It eventually went away as I started having a different symptom.

Now I am experiencing the nausea again ..... well I call it nausea but it's more like a sick feeling in my stomach as I don't ever want to vomit. It also comes in waves, it will feel strong for a second or two and then go away. It comes and goes throughout the day .... but here is the weird part .... it is almost always gone in the evenings/night and completely gone when it's bedtime. I have no problems falling asleep and even in the middle of the night if I wake up I don't feel any nausea. I even get up in the morning with none of it but then as I am driving on my way to work I start to feel it.

I know nausea can be linked to certain diseases but my BM are good ... no stomach pains ... so I really don't know anymore if this is linked to anxiety or not.

Technically ... if it goes away when i am resting/going to sleep doesn't that point towards it being anxiety ? Has anyone ever experienced this or is currently experiencing this ?

It does sound like anxiety to me. Especially if it went away when another symptom came up. I get nausea from anxiety as well. And I get it in waves like you do.

Does yours get better at certain points during the day ..... like for example when you are sitting on your couch at night watching tv or going to sleep.

My GI physician told me that in many cases the cause of nausea is never found.

Sounds like anxiety to me. Especially since it goes away when you have another symptom. I've never heard of just nausea pointing to any disease.

Yeah and what about the fact that it's gone when I am lying on the couch about to take a nap or go to bed ? Also gone when I wake up and i'm lying in bed before I get up ?
