Picking at teath
« on: March 19, 2014, 05:04:37 PM »
Ok I recently ended bad sore on the side of my gums.  Normally when I get gum problems I usually wait two weeks to see if it goes away on it's own before I go to a dentist for it. The problem is that now that I know the sore is there I can't stop picking at it. I know that picking at it isn't going to make it go away any faster but the one to two weeks it normally takes for these things to heal always feels like an eternity. On two occasions I picked at a sore so bad that it got 2-3 times as big. It's not as bad as it was the first time now, and I plan to keep an eye on it to see if medical attention is needed, but the compulsion to pick at things can be really strong sometimes and I know it's not helping me.

Sorry to read. I can relate to a point. It's not like I have a compulsion, but there's this certain need to touch painful etc. spots? Perhaps it's the human nature lol. Hope you feel better by now.  :action-smiley-065:

As others were; I have not seen
As others saw; I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
