Question for Parents - HA and Child's Appetite
« on: March 16, 2014, 02:47:32 PM »
I am a parent, and while my HA is bad at times for me, its WAY worse when I worry about my kids...which is why I am posting here.

My son is 10 and his eating habits went from a teenager to a toddler over the last few days.  He says he feels fine, just not really hungry.  For me, when I see him go from pounding meals like a linebacker to barely nibbling, I cant think of anything but the worst possible scenarios.  I am trying to keep from googling, but my anxiety is PEAKED.

My wife isnt worried (at least she isnt showing it), and other parents have said that it may be a cold or he is on the verge of a growth spurt, but I am still freaked.  Can someone please talk me down?

Maybe he's one of those people like me  -  I could be ravenous and eat tons of food or I eat nothing because I'm not hungry at all.
Another possibility is maybe there is something going on at school that has him troubled or worried?  A bully?  A test coming up?  Wanting to "make the team"  - anything like that.

Totally normal.  He could be getting ready for a growth spurt or coming up on one.  My daughter has always been like this.
