Breathing issues
« on: March 13, 2014, 09:39:40 PM »
I am very conscious of my breathing. I take about 90 percent of my breaths manually which i know
Means I probably hyperventilate. Anyway I have a lot
Of shortness of breath. I also get vague chest discomfort/butterfly in chest feeling. Also under my sternum is sore to
Touch. I'm worried about a tumor
Causing all of this. Is that realistic?

what I xan twll u is that I had/have all this and have had a battery of test and everything was fine. so my psychs conclusion is its a form of either concious or sub concious anxiety. my first encounter lasted weeks even at night waking up. then left and xane back and just lasted a couple of days

A few years ago I became obsessed with my breathing. Mainly, I felt that 99% of the time I could not properly fill my lungs with air. This went on for months. I went to a doctor. He was very impatient with me, basically told me to go home and meditate! I practically begged him for an asthma inhaler because I felt like I was suffocating.

I even stopped consuming caffeine!

A couple of things:
1. It was summer, and VERY humid. Imagine breathing in a steam room
2. My boyfriend had appendicitis and I was worried about him
3. If I distracted myself by watching movies or whatever, I didn't notice the breathing anymore.

Eventually I went back to normal
