Globus
« on: March 13, 2014, 07:55:01 AM »
Heya, I was just wondering if any of you lot who have experienced globus get other sort of sensations along with the usual lump in the throat feeling? Just curious
Ive finally come to terms that these strange sensations I'm having in my tongue and back of mouth are more than likely anxiety so was just wondering if globus can cause these weird feelings or if it's just anxiety in general?
For instance my lump in throat feeling is top of throat not around the typical Adam's apple area?
My tongue feels strange sort of dry although it's not and a bit odd in general? All of which doc said could be caused by globus. (Starting to believe him on this)
Let me know ;)

YES!

my anxiety caused "globus" or strange symptoms at the very top of my throat like where my tongue ends and throat begins.
I have dry mouth too and a tightening sensation. I don't actually choke when i swallow, but I feel as if it takes forever for the liquid or food to go down (feels tight).
I had a lot to drink this past weekend at a wedding and was not focused on it and guess what....i forgot all about it.
I returned home and to work (stressful environment) and guess what....its back!

I'm trying to remind myself of that today and not to fixate on it. Easier said than done, I know.

Yes. I had globus for a few hours the other day and it freaked me out.

It's so weird! Yeah mines at the top of my throat/back of tongue, makes it feel dry and just strange I can't explain it.
Feels like I'm always swallowing my saliva,  tongue feels  odd! Maybe it's where we focus so much on the smallest things that our bodies usually do without us noticing?
I've had mine on and off for about 3 months now

It happens when I am under stress. I usually get the feeling on the left side of my throat as well.
I will watch the spicy foods I eat and I wll usually take Zantec 75 for a few days. It has helped me.
